Victim Reports Ex-wife Vandalized Motorcycle
Law enforcement officers initiated an investigation on Wednesday after a resident provided video evidence showing that his ex-wife had vandalized his motorcycle.
The victim, a forty year old resident of Prosser Road, reported the incident through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. He said that he had discovered the vandalism during an afternoon ride.
According to the victim his engine began to sputter, so he stopped for gas. When he continued on his way, he said the engine continued to sputter, then quit working entirely.
He told deputies that the 2011 Harley Davidson is less than one year old and he found it doubtful that he would already be experiencing problems.
The victim reported that because he has been having difficulties with his ex-wife, he had installed video surveillance at his home.
He provided officials with a video that “plainly shows” her using a gloved hand to remove the gas cap, then pour something into the tank. Reports show that after replacing the gas cap, the woman began “looking around to see if she had been seen,” then walk away.
Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division have been tasked with continuing the investigation. The motorcycle has an estimated value of $19,000.
